Megan Monsour knew in law school that she wanted to help build families through adoption. After over a decade of representing families in adoption, collaborative reproduction and foster care, she has finalized hundreds of adoptions and secured parental rights for families all over the nation and abroad.

Megan’s experience and compassion make her uniquely qualified to represent adoptive parents, biological parents, surrogates and donors with the respect and understanding they deserve. She has significant experience in both independent and private adoptions, including offering services that match prospective adoptive parents with expectant mothers.

She also represents families in guardianships, contested adoption matters and other child permanency litigation.

Megan’s work on behalf of families has earned her fellowship status in the Academy of Adoption and Assisted Reproduction Attorneys, a designation that is by invitation only and based on criteria for excellence in the practice of adoption and collaborative reproduction law. She has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star.


Kayla L. Stavinoha

As an associate attorney, Kayla Stavinoha, assists our adoption, foster care and surrogacy clients. As a licensed foster parent herself, she truly understands the sacrifice and challenges that her clients face. She is committed to fighting for the best interests of the children of Kansas. 

Originally from College Station, Texas, Kayla attended Texas A&M University before she went on to earn her law degree from Washburn University School of Law. Kayla was the Online Production Editor of the Washburn Law Journal during her time at Washburn. She was also honored with the Cali Excellence for the Future Award in Contracts, Business Taxation and International Business Transactions.

Kayla clerked for Hinkle Law Firm in the summer of 2019 before she officially joined the firm in August 2020. 

She is a member of the Wichita Bar Association and Wichita Women Attorney Association. 


Katie N. Atwood

Paralegal

Katie Atwood has nearly 20 years’ experience in adoption and child permanency. She began her career in child welfare which has given her valuable experience and helps her understand the needs of expectant mothers in a very real way. Katie also works directly with hopeful adoptive parents in guiding them in their adoption journey with proficiency and sensitivity. Her commitment to honoring adoptees and biological families while creating healthy happy families through adoption is unmatched.
